They can only check for warning lights not if systems are actually working. Only £50 after all!

While on the subject of MOTs, MOTEST in Swindon (and I guess other locations) don't charge for a failed MOT, you only pay when it passes. Very useful for me getting my son's 03 Clio with 180k miles on the clock through last time Laughing 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE Java Black

The trouble with warning lights is they are usually accurate, if a warning light is on the system is faulty. Thumbs Up

Allthough not Range Rover related, I had to replace a module on a Vauxhall that the dealers wanted £850 to swap and programme.

I got a used one for much less, which worked, and fitted it myself, but it threw up an ABS warning light. The car did not have ABS but as the module came from a car that did, it was trying to communicate to the ABS module and because it was not getting a signal back it put the light on.

The dealer wouldnt re-programme it to the car as I did not buy it from them, so I used black tape to cover the bulb (its an led strip, behind the dials so they obv. Use the same speedo across the range.

Went through the MOT Thumbs Up Reformed

@ Alistair
You don't need to get it switched off, your car won't be tested on it.
Only applies to cars registered after 1 Jan 2012.

1st Jan 2012 was when the new items for test were devised. It was never actually mandatory until yesterday.

wonder if the cost of the Test will rise ? will surely be a case of claiming the test will take longer for garages to do so less capacity? Shocked

If you'd taken it for a test before the 20th it would have passed. Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

My old man just got his crossfire through last month with an Stability control light on, probably wouldnt go through now.....

They cant find the problem at the garage. i have suggested a lateral acceleration sensor but he doesnt believe me.......thinks all these new fangled gizmos are all "cr*p" and why cant cars be as simple as they used to be.

I then pointed out his car of choice used to be a turd brown classic with "over" 100k on the clock which never passed it mot first time and usually required welding or carb adjustments or new exhaust or new bushes or........ No further comment was forthcoming. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
