Problem with climate seats

Hi guys,

I have a problem with the drivers seat in my MY2007 VSE.

The cooling works fine, but there's no heating on the drivers seat. Passenger one works fine.

All the fuses check out and a forum search reveals little about this problem.

Anyone give me some pointers?

Thanks,
Mike

Just had the same problem with mine, turned out to be the temperature sensor in the backrest peltier cell unit which had gone this also made the ecu turn off the seat base heater as well. The sensor is part of the peltier cell which comes as a unit with the fan and duct, was about £180 from Dan and I fitted it myself. IDD tool was very useful in obtaining the fault codes which pointed in the direction of the faulty cell. There are some pictures in my gallery of the set up and offending item with a bit of info regarding the operation of the climatic seats that you may find useful. MY2007 S/C - Stornoway / Jet

Thanks Jpickie,

I had a look at your gallery and it looks like it'll be fairly easy to start rooting around now i know what to look for.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but was it difficult to replace?

I had a similar issue, drivers seat bottom getting nice and cool, but the seat back not really working much. Passenger seat works fine.
Thanks to the information here, and the pics you shared, I managed to find and fix the issue, at least temporarily. Thumbs Up

I had the same crack on the duct as in Jpickie's pic here

fixed it with duct tape. well thats what duct tape is for?
but will ask them to replace the unit at the next service. The air filter looked like it had never been replaced, so I gave it a good blast with the vacuum cleaner in the hope that it will improve breathing a bit.

Forgot to add:

Removing the plastic seat back cover was a bit daunting. I couldn't figure out how to remove the bottom side cover on the corner toward the centre console, so I eventually bent these bits as much as I dared, and then removed the little round plastic inserts that locate the bottom of the panel on each side.
Then it just pulls down to release. I seem to remember reading somewhere that it pulls UP to release, and that confused me for a while.

Refitting was a lot easier.

Yep definately pull down to get ventilated seat back off , I found if you get the panel off the the big bar sort of hinge as you say a bit daunting but the slides down on the locating pins . Duckwoth Dan is looking in to it to see if the pipe is available separately as I think slot of these have failed . 2008 MY Supercharged

It would be great to get a new part in, thats for sure. Although driving the car the last couple of days, I can't feel much oaf a difference to be honest. I should have checked that the fan actually worked before I put it all back to gather again. It seems to be getting colder, but compared to the seat portion its pathetic
