56/06 TD6 vogue going rate?

I was previously looking to buy an 07 tdv8. However I've had a budget cap imposed on me. So my attention has now shifted onto late td6 cars.

Anyone know what 55/06 td6 vogues with approx 70k miles have been selling for please?

That gives advertised rate. Would rather know what people who have sold recently have achieved. Current cars:

I wouldn't buy any that are in the higher tax band which will likely be all 06 ones.

Just not worth it IMO when you can get so much better ones for less money Smile

I'd say your looking at between 12-14k for one on a 55 with such low miles.

Milage shouldn't be the factor though, condition should be. You'll get a cheaper one with more miles and the money saved can sit to one side for repairs or doing nothing if it doesn't need a repair Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

. . . . Not all '06 cars, KP - but probably most.

For info, you can check the VEL rate at :

https://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPorta...=directgov

As KP said, no point whatsoever in buying a Td6 with a big tax disc - simply not worth it. There's a couple for sale at the moment - '56 registered Td6 cars at Tdv8 money - utter nonsense !

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

I sold mine (55 Vogue with 100k and fsh) for £12.5k, I thought this was a decent price - I'd lost £2k in 2 years, which I could live with...

As others say, I wouldn't buy a high tax TD6 Whistle Either go a bit older, or save a bit longer and go for the TDV8 Thumbs Up

gary - whats the verdict? 05 or 55 plate with "low miles" ?

Afraid saving up more money isn't an option as the extra money has been taken away and is in a new house fund. So anything else saved goes to that.

The extra tax aspect isn't a worry, but you're right that there is no point in buying an 06 car that has this saddled with it over a facelifted 55 car.

The options I've possibley given myself for a budget of 14/15k are a 70k mile TD6 or even a Mk2 07/57 Touareg 3.0 TDi Altitude (if I can find one with air suspension).

My head says Touareg, but heart says RR. Current cars:

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Java Black

As an ex Touareg owner (57 plate 3.0TDI Altitude) I have to say they are a very well put together car..... but they don't feel special like a Rangie. I'll be buying another 4x4 this summer and I wouldn't dream of buying a VW again.

My 08 TDV8 with 87k miles on it went for £21k a week ago as a private sale. I'd have thought a 55 plate TD6 is going to be £12-14k as suggested earlier. Lloyd Barnes

I saw yesterday that there is an Lpg converted FFRR 4.2SC for sale in the classifieds at the moment within budget.

What are the thoughts on these? Current cars:

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Java Black

Must admit I find the Range Rover used market very unusual and I can see why newcomers to the scene can need a little advice. Like most on here I'm not new to buying cars but I don't think I've ever seen such wild variations in pricing... as an example.....

Here's an 09 3.6TDV8 Vogue SE with 70k miles, (still the earlier 55-09 front end/interior)... £34k
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/adv...?logcode=p

and heres an 08 Vogue, ok 30k more miles/1 year earlier but £14k cheaper???

Dealers aren't daft but surely the top one will never in a million years sell? Its not an isolated one I've picked out, there are a wide spread of cars in between. In any used car market there is always a range of prices but not sure I've ever come across such a wide spread before. Lloyd Barnes
