Just replaced my wiper motor and noticed the the cap on the motor end of the wiper arm refuses to stay firmly over the water outlet of the motor spindle. The result is the water does not spray it dribbles down the window. Is this the sign of a worn arm that needs replacing or is there something else I can do to fix it? No that is not snapped as this is a brand new wiper motor. When I refitted the arm and gently pushed the end cap of the arm onto the spindle it would stay then pop back a bit thus not making a seal and allowing the water to slurge not flow into the jets. Did you clean the rear wiper arm when you changed the motor?

Wiper arm was cleaned and when you first push the end cap over the spindle it sprays water nicely but after a short while it lifts a bit and water then just dribbles out of the base of the wiper arm end cap instead of the jets. It's as if the end cap spring is not strong enough to hold it tight to the top of the spindle. "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

My rear wiper doesn't seem to work either, I'm wondering why? |

Problem now fixed - new wiper arm with better fitting end cap has done the trick - washer now sprays nicely over the rear window rather than just dribble.

Regarding this, by 'spray' do you mean like a fan shaped spray? .... Not sure if mine is correct or not really, originally mine was just a dribble and took ages to come out but after I changed the NRV inside it now squirts out quite alot (looks normal to me but nothing to compare against) but its not in any spray (fine mist) pattern its more like a hose jet now. |

When I said spray I should have said squirt - the old wiper arm didn't fit over the washer pipe properly (firmly) so water just escaped around the wiper arm end cap - the new arm fits tightly on the washer nozzle and I now get two jets of water down the rear screen. Hmmm ..... not sure if mine is right or not then then but to be honest I don't think its worth worrying about, before I changed the NRV there was a long wait before the water came out now (right or wrong) a sufficient amount of water comes out to clean the screen so I'll leave it I think.
