Do I have a buttler/maid in my car?

Hi all,

My "new" 2002 FFRR Td6 has satnav, telephone (which I never tried to use), cd changer (in the glove box Sad ) and cassette player Laughing .

But does it have voice recognition?

One thing is for sure the steering wheel has the button... but when I pressed it, no one says anything (other than my wife, that always says - "forget it, that thing does not work" Very Happy)

Do I have to activate it somewhere else?

Am I going to finally listen: "YOU RANG, Sir"? Very Happy MML

That's another curious thing.

I went to the local RR stealer for some parts I need. They've asked for the VIN and told me that it was going to be difficult, but possible, to get the model badge... Shocked I asked why and he said that my model was the 35th Anniversary. Shocked Shocked Shocked

I now know that's not true! They must have made some kind of mess over there. Mine is very simple (as any FFRR can be Very Happy ), Spartan Laughing , and specially its green and ivory. Cool

All that said, I believe it's the HSE. Smile MML

The SE and HSE models didn't have Voice Recognition as standard, it was on the Vogue and Vogue SE models only as standard.

Sounds as if you have a very similar spec. to me. I have most of the goodies on board, and the buttons for the voice recognition, but the voice recognition doesn't work, and the message centre tells me that it is not enabled or something similar. I also have a third party phone setup, with a cradle for a Nokia 6310, which is linked into the system so I can dial through the car. Also never use this now, as HTC One X smartphone with it's speaker is good enough for the occasional call I make when in traffic, etc.

And yes the first run of FFRRs came with a cassette player tucked away behind the screen. .

Thumbs Up Exactly the cassette player is hidden behind the electric screen that slides downwards.

Regarding the phone, I have an original system - from Siemens - hidden in the "first floor/layer" of the cubby box. Below the cradle there is a slot for a big SIM card - I'm going to try it out.

Stan: no bing
RRUK: prob solved!

No help then... times aren't what they used to be, I guess Very Happy MML
