Problems in fullfatrr production?

Hello

A frien of mine ordered a Fullfat "full equiped"...with almost everything you can imagine here in spain
LR told him that the delivery time would be 4 months.
Actually yhey said that he have to wait an addicional moth and he's very upset. LR argue problems in production and other technical issues....Do you know anyting about it?
Is it normarl to ask teh retailer to let hin a car during this month of delay?....
Can he do anything or just "wait and pray" ?

Thanks for your comments!

United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

I'd heard they had issues with supply of parts for the surround camera system for a while and you couldn't specify it, plus they've had battery and software issues since the launch.

It seems to be standard practice these days with a new launch.

Let's hope when he gets it, it has been built as he wanted, when my RRS SC was built they forgot to do the privacy glass at the factory, I was Censored off! Discovery 4 HSE

I've always avoided the first years production of any Landrover for exactly that reason.
Gives them a chance to iron some of the bugs out.

I think it's more a matter of luck....
For example, for 2007MY cars, if you have a look around the forums, you cannot find any real big probs with those cars. So they are not at all bad.
But, go figure, it's stated also around the forums, that 2008 was a bad year...like in wines.... Mr. Green

On reading what I wrote here, I realised most of it was rubbish.

Yes , new moddels can have problems...like the D3 MY2005..... (I have a D3)

My question is more related to know if 5 months are "acceptable".
In tehe D3 models in Spain....is asumed that 4 months are spected.

In RRFF

1) Do you think the fact that is a "new" moddel can affect to the "delivery time".... Do you know if 5 months would be acceptable for a moddel like this since the dealer told you 4 months.
2) What "responsability" can have a "dealer" in the delivery time?
3) Do they should let you a "replacement" car if the delivery time is more than 4 months?

Thanks

1) Not because of newer model, i think so. My car was one of the very first delivered 2007MY's, and to my knowledge, at the time, there were no extra delivery problems. It was the usual 3, 4 months...
Maybe with new managment the teams have changed, which can mean extra delays.
2) As far as I can tell, none...It's not their problem, and also not their fault.
3) Not obliged to do it, but niceness sometimes can be applied by them.

My neighbour is always trying to talk me out of buying a Range Rover as he has a friend that works in the RR factory. That friend told him that quality control in the Range Rover is terrible, and that gaps in the chassis are mended with chewing gum! Shocked

Personally, I think every factory and warehouse in the UK will have stories like this - nobody likes to pass on good news in this country.

Also, I remember reading somewhere that Quality Control was improved years ago, so I'm hoping the 2007 on cars will be better built.
