hi muffster, in my gallery you can see a build-out steering column: there is the spindle to see, and there are two (you can see only one of them) allen? inbus bolts between the motor and the spindle. Screw them out, but not complete, only 70%, then you can push down the spindle incl. the old plastic nut. Then screw out the old plastic nut, and screw on the new one, and complete all parts. Believe me, a very easyjob for me, because of 20 times done. If first time, you will need one hour, I need now 20 minutes. The tools are normal tools ,each gentleman has them. Best regards, Uli! I've just done this job, good job I was alone as language got decidely ropey for a while. Dont make the mistake I made and uscrew the allen bolts too far - one came right out and was an absolute **** of a job to get it back in! However the nut I bought from meerbusch did the job perfectly so I can now go 'up and doon' and 'in and oot'!!! This is not a job for anyone with big hands or muscular arms - bit of a tight fit in there........... |

fitted the replacement part from Meerbusch but hasn't solved the problem the reach function still stops at different heights every time. I have tried reprogramming the memory function but doesn't make any difference, anyone got any other ideas what the problem could be. Could the motor be waring out. When i put the key in the wheel tilts and comes forward then stops, i can then use the stalk to move the wheel manually into position but doesn't return to that point next time.
