My latest project

As some of you know I've been looking for an old Jaguar for a while and when I saw this one just before going on holiday I made the owner an offer which he refused. Then he emailed me whilst I was away to say that he would accept my offer.

A run through to Haddington this morning and I am now the owner of a 1998 V8 Jaguar. It had no MOT so I called my garage yesterday and booked it in for today. It passed with only a couple of advisories as per last year. Slight corrosion on the front brake pipes and a slight play on a bottom ball joint. Otherwise a clean bill of health. The chap I bought it from bought it from a Jaguar dealership 3 years ago and covered less than 2000 miles in that time. It has FJSH and 58k on the clock. Not bad for less than the price of a set of Pirelli tyres for the FFRR

It needs a good clean up and a couple of bumper scuffs sorting out and that's pretty much it

Love Jags. I keep threatening to get a cheap one as I liked my XJS.

Also, which one.

Late XJ12?
Badass XJR
XKR

I think an XKR, but I'll wait till the 4.2's get a bit cheaper, by which time I'll have changed my mind again. Laughing

One of my fav's of all time is the XJ coupe, but I'd want a rebuilt one like this: -

Jealous, had to get rid of my 1999 XJ8 to buy the FFRR, make sure its had the timing chain tensioners and water pump replaced, Ive a New wiper blade for it if your interested, Only recurring problem i had with mine was seized front brake callipers. Three things in a blokes life his dog,his car and a Cornish pasty, nothing else matters.

I have just read your thread over on DW about the garage build and as I said on there it is fantastic and I take my hat off to for such an amazing project! I am sure the Jag will look stunning after a good detail!
