LR Approved Used Scheme - Brakes

Hi,

Does anyone have experience with the inside mechanisms of the LR Approved Used Scheme and their internal checks. Just found out my brake discs and pads are almost 55% worn all round and need changing in the next 3-5 months but LR stealer insist these are within their tolerance levels and would not be changed under the Approved Used Scheme.

Thanks. MY11 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - "African Queen"

Your pads may well be 55% worn and perfectly servicable but I find it hard to believe your discs are 55% warn and have been deemed servicable by a Main Dealer. I wouldn't even consider driving a car with discs that warn.
I think you need to clarify the condition of your discs as a matter of urgency. Thumbs Up

They're not 55% worn, they have 45% life left in them Whistle

My vehicle is also under Approved Used Scheme and recently suffered a seized caliper on the near-side rear wheel. This subsequently caused the disk to warp. Land Rover covered the cost of replacing the caliper but not the disks or pads. It seems to me that the used warranty does not cover those items that are subject to wear and tear.

They also covered replacement of the lower swingarms due to failure of the balljoints. The dealer had not expected them to cover this.

Cheers,
