Scotland 2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Java Black

As promised, a pic of my centre console with my push button start. Ignore the Mrs' handbag please lol.

I'm thinking of making a kit with the button in Silver to match the rest of the console or any chosen colour. I do like the "BIG RED BUTTON" effect of it all though.

so you just insert the key [without turning it ?] and then press the red button ...
or do you have to insert key ,turn to position 2 and then press the red button if its this way then its another step to start the range..
what's the procedure to turn the engine off.. ... - .- -.

Start procedure is as normal, turn key to position 2 and press the button, rather than turning to position 3, which is now not needed, so it is the same number of steps and engine off is simply key off. I could bypass the whole ignition system and replace the barrel with the button start, but it would make it considerably easier to steal.

Like I said, this was originally to replace the the iginition fault that was occuring intermittently on the car and I certainly wasn't in the mood the replace all LR's harness.

I know this feature isn't for everyone. However, I do like it and most people that have been in the car think it's actually a cool touch. '55 Java Black Vogue

I'm missing the extra key turn you mention.

Standard RR System goes ACC, IGN 1 then IGN 2 to start, my push button system is ACC, IGN1, Push Button, so each has 3 steps.

The BMW System is push key in for ACC, Press again for IGN 1 then push button, so 3 steps again. (Or so I remember from working on them)

I'm confused or am I missing something?

Cheers for the nice job, the button is a perfect fit, well chuffed with it, the mrs wants one in her z4 now lol

Ah ok, I know the mode your talking about, there is a 3 step way to work them as we use it to plug in an OBDII reader when reading fault codes.
