Searching for a new car... found this!

I was browsing the bay for a Supercharged 06/07 RR, and came across this! I guess the vinyl wrap is the worst ever seen on a Range Rover...

Ok being brave in the tidal wave of opinion I've got to squeak about vinyl in its defence. I bought a midnight blue 911 Turbo, which is a sensible colour to buy one in, good resale etc – however after about 6 months I started to grow seriously bored of the colour, so got it wrapped in GT3 RS Orange. The vinyl protects the paint work from scratches and scuffs, prevents the mentally challenged from keying the sides, doesn’t need polishing (just a quick sponge job) and best of all comes off to reveal immaculate paint work underneath. Oh, and its orange 

What’s strange is that it transformed the character of the car (at least visually, which now sounds like a stupid thing to type) the car was more fun, more silly and I never tire of walking towards it in the carpark. It’s a shot of much needed personality for the german supercar.

I know wrapping is rife amongst Ferrari and Zonda owners as they don’t want to damage the paint, so they wrap it in matt black (or whatever) and then have it removed come resale time.

Surely if the paint has a blemish or chip in it though the vinyl will grip to it when it is peeled off and potentially pull off more paint? I think that's what concerns me the most about it. Discovery 4 HSE

Having covered my cars in vinyl stickers I can confirm that as long as you remove them/it properly there will be no damage to the paint. Ideally you should polish the car before applying vinyl, but a bit of heat and care when removing leaves the paintwork spotless Thumbs Up Land Rover Addict

I've had some parts of the vinyl replaced after a scuff on the nose caused by some careless Censored - and had the mirrors, side intakes and rear wing done in carbon - and I can also confirm the paint underneath was perfect.

I had it swissvax'd before fitment, as I was told that's the best way to do it.

Prices for a 'normal' car range between £800 - £2000 depending on what colour you want. I know a chap who had his 911 Turbo chromed, and that cost £4K, as you have to matt black it first (so basically two wraps).
