I prefer it with the Gills. They are there to make the doors look right. |

Nice to hear that you are happy with it and glad to hear so many are being bought. That means that by the time I can afford a second hand one, there are plenty available

It's a fudge, nothing more. As pointless as a design "feature" as the fake vent on the trailing edge of the bonnet.
Did you have a 4.4TDV8 before? |

Some may like and some may not but in LR's guise to appease more owners with custom options why didnt they allow the deletion of it and the fleck? Im sure would do as i dont mind a long looking door, not that it does once removed anyway FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Barely got over 25 in 4.4TDV8 or SDV6 (sport) in past. So it is an improvement, but cannot see me getting the 32.5 combined LR claim unless I drive specifically for consumption but this still pleased me as I was not going slow. Also is improving with miles. Car is surprisingly swift and engine , when warmed up, impressive in all conditions, with gearbox not hunting around as it did in the Sport, seems better matched or they have improved it (the software I guess) Clearly the tdv6 will be superior in respect of economy, will be interesting to hear how much better when some owners get the miles on. |

Sounds about right, in my experience trying to average 30 mpg on a journey is a thankless task. How much quicker does the new one feel? |

Have to say, feels very much quicker, almost indecently swift for such a big car. Not that it was slow before. Also sounds like a V8, dare I say petrol like. Not driven the SDV6, and with 200 kg less and still 600 NM of torque, I can understand why for some (eventually many ?) it will be the choice. Personally, for me, I like the way a V8 drives, and in a FF it just seems the right engine for the car. Handling is seriously good too, a big improvement when pushing on, though in reality, it is still a "stately" vehicle, so will not normally be driven hard enough to find limits. But overall comfort and refinement is really outstanding. I am sure a many new buyers will come from Bentley for example. Does not quite have the Bentley quality feel, but very close. Only real gripe remains the Sat Nav interface, it is not as good as others, though the stereo is certainly the best I have had in a road car (upgraded one) The bass shakes the car... watch out Corsa/Saxo owners, the FF is coming to get you. Seriously though, a great opera is stunningly good, and films have amazing sound effects. Just need the voice control to understand " I said the effing phone" as I get more frustrated with it.... |

Land Rover's user interface stuff is pretty poor - newer iDrive for example is miles ahead. Voice control in the old one is pretty useless too in my experience.
