Sorry if its a stupid question ( probably is ! ) but,when changing the tranny oil radiator will doing so mean loss of transmission fluid meaning a change of same ? I am having the main radiator changed due to possible gearbox o/heating (held 3rd gear/high revs today...seems like 'cooling mode') and figured may as well change oil cooler as well,but if box oil needs changing as well my local guy has already said probably best for specialist to do that,which i can appreciate.
Oh,its an '02 4.4 v8 petrol.

Changing cooler will result in fluid loss. Topping up fluid is a DIY able job with some basic tools to pump fluid in.

You may as wheel change all fluid and filter at same time.

A DIY fluid change only replaces about 50% of the total fluid each time, so it's better to change fluid, run for a few miles, change fluid and that way you have changed about 75% of it. A full fluid change needs a machine to do it, typically by a specialist. V8 or else ...
