To change the head gaskets you talking £1800. If he heads are cracked even more. It's a ball ache of a job and you would need all the gear to lock the timing gear and that's not cheap to hire/buy. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

Getting parts in France is hard!?!? Canada aussi! A friend tried to buy a new battery for his imported Defender 300 tdi. Even though he knew the correct size, amperage, etc. they didn't want to sell it because their computer said the vehicle didn't exist. He finally got it without the warranty as it was for 'a non-approved use.'

Interesting 'easy' repair. A head gasket is not hard, the resurfacing that is almost always requiring is not exactly an everyday DIY project! |

If it's only a gasket then it could be a good buy, but it's very seldom a gasket is all that is required. If it were me I would be looking for a sorted well cared for vehicle at a couple of £k more |
