Which would you choose ?

A friend is considering one of the following. Which would you choose ?

Aston Martin DB7 V12 VANTAGE 2DR AUTO, Year 2000 5.9 £27K

Aston Martin DB9 V12 2DR TOUCHTRONIC AUTO 5.9 Year 2004 £32K

Bentley Continental Gt 6.0 W12 2DR AUTO GT Year 2005, £30K

ps, the pictures aren't the exact cars he's looking at, I just found these on the internet to see.

Not as easy as it sounds... These cars look superb, but for real world driving experiences they are not what you might expect.
On the roads round here you can feel the weight of the engine at the front so much. They are long distance cruisers, not fast blast twisty road cars.... And I am speaking from experience......

Easy for me too. Whilst Contraband is right, you'd have to be crazy to be considering any of these three because you want something quick and nimble. GT is what they do, and they all do it well, but much as I love the DB7, it doesn't compare with the DB9.

Bentley is I'm sure a nice car, but its not an Aston! Thumbs Up Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

For some weird reason, modern Astons don't "do it" for me, so it would be the Bentley for me............. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Id go for the Bentley. Mainly for the comfort on the roads with their potholes Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I think that's what he wants, a fast cruiser that is comfy. Not so much a nimble sports car.

I read somewhere a Bentley service can be 5 grand ! Shocked

Any thoughts on running costs ?

I can't imagine any of them will be cheap! Whistle

This months Car magazine has a good AM buyers guide and they quote roughly a grand for a service and about £2,500 for a clutch (that might only last 50,000 miles!) Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Don't discount the Maserati 4200 Cambiocorsa. That is a great GT car. It has a Ferrari 360 engine, but with chains not belts. It is very well put together inside. And very very quick. You will get a superb example for 20k now. It is lighter than the others as well. There is a roundabout near me that is at the top of a hill. When you go round it in the Maserati and floor it heading down the hill, you can feel your legs almost float with the acceleration. Very quick. Thumbs Up

For me:

DB7 : XJS with Ford parts bin. Says you couldn't afford a DB9
Bentley : Your wife is orange. Darling daughter Olivia has 4 horses.

DB9 : You have class, standards. Your wife isn't orange

Silly, isn't it ? But true, all the same My plan was idiot-proof ...

I rather like the Bentley. Less obvious than the Astons and that's the reason why I'd chose it.

No personal experience of any of them. Si. <This is my name.

On looks it would be the DB9.
On the pub "What do you drive?" Test I think it would be a dead heat between the DB9 & Bently
Easy of use and everyday practicality I think I would choose the Bently. (Not based on any actual facts only what I've read and heard)
There would be one of each in my fantasy garage! [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

DB9 please.
I think the Bentley is lovely, but is it just me, or are there quite a few chavved-up ones on the road??
Lots of early high milers being wrapped + bling wheels Sheep

That isn't going to happen to the Astons

(+1 for Maserati) Thumbs Up Alcohol and eBay is never a good mix
