Regarding the ride comfort, what size wheels are on yours, and what size were on the L405 ? My plan was idiot-proof ...

It wouldn't surprise me if they'd stiffened the suspension on the new FF, as such minimal off-roading happens with them. That would make the ride not as compliant.

the wheel sizes are quite silly on the new car: I'm not a rapper so no thanks!

I've drove both the 3.0 and the 4.4 and both on 21"s, the 4.4 felt way stiffer/harsher to drive!

For my safety I quite like to be able to stop in a hurry when travelling on the motorway at 70mph. This is something the L322 has never been terribly good at compared to other large luxury vehicles or SUVs although the 2010+ models were much better than the earlier ones. When I drove the L405 supercharged on 22inch wheels I thought the ride was comparable to, if not better than, my 2010 supercharged on 20inch wheels. Additionally the benefit of the car not rolling like a galleon in a gale when cornering is a huge benefit when it comes to driving pleasure and the comfort of my passengers on twisty roads. The L405 is not the quantum leap forward that I would have hoped for in a totally new model but it is better than or equal to the L322 in every respect in my opinion. The only thing which I think is poor is the multimedia interface which just feels old to me compared to the likes of BMW. |

I'm with 5.0 on this. My L322 (2011) is a great car but the infotainment is worse than my colleagues entry level A4 and it is a bit of a rolly-poly on an A road when compared to Q7,X5 etc. I don't want a sports car (got one in the garage) but its not much fun for passengers to be holding onto the grab handles at every roundabout or corner.

That's what I thought when I bought my new L322 and 7 month later the 4.4 was introduced.... ![]() JJ |
