Bluetooth connector leads/plug

Hi All,

Searched but can;t find what I need. Basically I have the 7th Gen Bluetooth unit, microphone and arial (I think) so I believe all I need is the custom lead to plug it all together.

Any idea where I can get such a lead or a new lead that might need re pinning.? (with part number preferably)
I'm sure I've seen a guide to re pinning on here somewhere. Ash

Thanks Stan but no.

I don't have any phone in the car yet but it is pre wired to take it. I have a large white 54(?) pin plug in the rear left which apparently is for the phone. It's from that plug to the bluetooth unit that I need. Ash

Start by having a read of this post and all the links in it; I did and found the answers to all my questions Thumbs Up

Unless you buy the Audi convertor/connector, you'll need to re-pin the existing 54 pin connector in your boot (which is what I did).

mjdronfield is an expert on this topic. I wouldn't have got mine installed without his help Bow down

Thanks Greg

It appears I only have the large 12 pin white female plug in the boot space after all and not the black 54 pin end.

Does this mean ill need the plug you got from audio? Assume it has the male 12 pin end (that needs the re pinning) and the other end is the 54 pin that connects directly to the ULF unit?

Thanks Ash

I'm not sure it's as simple as that, if you haven't got the 54 pin connector. Have you checked way down in the depths of the boot on the left hand side? If there is one it's usually buried! Either way, I think you'll have to do some re-pinning - but I'm sure someone on here will correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, if you haven't already, check to see you have a 3-pin connector for the microphone (it's in the overhead console behind a small black cover - it was a yellow wire if I remember correctly).

And I assume you've got "Telephone" as an option on your TV/Nav display (albeit it will be "greyed out", until the ULF module is installed when it will become active)?

There's something in this post about the 12-pin connector - it might help.

.....this might be the connector you need (I already had the 54-pin connector so I didn't need it)

If you do a search for ULF and/or bluetooth you'll find loads of threads which will help. Cheers

Did you get any further ?

Greg is right, in that its a bit harder if your car is not wired for phone. Its listed as "Personal Telephone Integration (PTI)" if you get a printout of the build sheet for your car from a dealers.

Its not impossible without the prewire - its just that you'll have to run cables from the rear of the car to the front for the microphone.

RAVE should detail the electrical connections, so you may be able to trace the 12 or so wires you actually need for the ULF from whatever plugs are in the boot.

I did not have Telephone displayed on my screen at all, until the ULF was connected up and recognised on the ibus.

Also without the prewire, you will need the aerial lead that goes from the ULF to the bluetooth aerial,........

HI MJ

The only bit left for me to do is source the plug from the white loom to the ulf unit. I believe the car is pre wired but missing this plug/loom. Mic is there and arial etc...

No idea where to get this part yet but working on it.!

If anyone has the plug but is not using the ulf (or does not have one) I'd be happy to purchase the last part of the loom..! Very Happy Ash
