Bonnet respray

My bonnet front edge looks like its taken a hit from a shotgun - previous owner must have put in some high speed motorway miles Wink
I am considering getting it resprayed, my local body shop quoted me £240 inc VAT to spray it ( not just the front edge) all in Rimini Red two pack is that reasonableness- they will also "blow in" a bumper scuff?
Obviously the letters will have to come off is it easy to get the replacements positioned correctly?

So many questions maybe I should end with an observation

There are some bast@rds in the world, I heard a commotion the other night and went out to find some scousers playing football with a cat, I was about to intervene when I realised the cat was winning two nil so I left it. Whistle Geoff

Thats a good price me thinks.
We have just had the D4 front end repaired and it looks great. The body shop fitted new Land Rover decals to the bonnet and you would think the car is new.

For that money i would bite his arm off.

Not a bad price as they need to take the lettering off and put it back on right and take it off to give it a good prep as well Smile

At some point I am going to buy one of these kits.
I have the dull grey letters, but titanium look more current ?

I paid double that and some for my bonnet repaint with replacement lettering. Sounds good, jump in.

Geoff

I know of a guy who does micro repairs, he did a seamless repair to the bodywork of my father in laws new black Volvo, you couldn't tell where the dent and scrapes had been and he was less than half the price of my trusted bodywork shop. I can get you his number if you like?

He isn't supplying new letters - so I guess thats a job for me Confused

Still, letters are cheap enough however fitting on a clean space might be a problem - anyone done it Question Geoff

They will likely take them off carefully enough to stick back on but if you get them some titanium ones it will be easier for them Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Are curved templates for the front normal or is the Banana Template from PUK really unique? Geoff

No they are pure S Censored I did mine from photos. Before you remove existing letters though measure and using masking tape to make your own template by placing around existing lettering that's what I should have done Thumbs Up Present :2008 TDV8 HSE
