I thought it was just a case of popping the disc in and let it do its stuff
I've downloaded the software from Matt Stevensons web site with the Landrover splash screen
on to a cd but the sat nav reads it then ejects it Evil or Very Mad

It has been a while since i did one but that's how I remember it. Burn it on a good quality disc at as slow a speed as your burner will allow. It is possible you have a duff image. Also are you sure its a MKIV? I don't recall a MKIV with a monochrome screen, but I could be wrong. Check the model you have against the one shown here

The update is still on a CD though, by design a DVD player, which is all these navigation computers are, will read a CD. The MKIV will happily read and use a any of the Navigation CD's from a MK1, MKII or MKII

Right it can be recoded but not with a simple cd:

First connect the GT-1

1. Code ZCS/FA
2. select after sales replacement(retrofit)( i know it isn't, but other wise you can't code the MK4
3. select IKE
4. select language
5. then you have to selet the 3 languages
6. Then on the nav screen you wil see load software. But you can’t see because your Nav still isn’t code for the Monitor. Butt you musst put the V26 in the MK4.
7. after you putt the V26 you have to wait in about 2 minutes the screen wil come, last time it took about 4 minutes.
8. After the succesfull software load , you have to select recode the Navigation computer, an you can code the MK4 to your car

Yes, it is BMW diagnostic and coding software. I have it, but its a 30GB virtual machine. It is not straightforward to build one and you need all the software, plus the correct version. Also I dont believe it works with Range Rovers

What car did it come out of? If you know someone with BMW that has sat nav using a MKIV you could recode it in that using GT1

Navcoder is very limited in comparison, plus it needs a separate interface attached to the K bus to work DIS came first
