Evening All

Just booked my first trip abroad in the new (old) car.
Only going to France, but want to buy breakdown cover for peace of mind.
The thought of being stranded with an eccentric electrical
/ suspension warning...

Has anyone got any experience, recommendations please .

Tried googling, and one name that comes up a few times is Allianz Assist.

I will take out an annual policy that covers me in UK too, so could just go for
AA or RAC, but sceptical how good they are in Europe?

2006 4.2 Supercharged, Java Black

I used to use RAC single trip cover every time I went to Germany, its pretty comprehensive and usually about £35 per trip. This year joining the ADAC is on the "to do" list, you can't book online you usually have to call them but they are very good, and cheaper. They will cover you in the UK too, my main reason to use them is because they will recover you for free from the Nurburgring should you break down mid lap (usually €250).

Whatever you decide spend a few mins reading the fine print, many of them will only recover you to the ferry/Chunnel leaving you stranded in the UK. Others will only recover you to the closest garage, obviously that's a nightmare also.

I did see that ADAC come up on a few searches .
I saw that it involves faxing Munich or something .
Fortunately I work at a German bank, so I am surrounded by ze Germans

Nurburgring in the Rangey could be fun.

Ha pretty similar to myself, my mate is German so it's handy to use him as a middle man, the rangey could be fun for tapping Porsches out of the way and a 7 min lap is guaranteed if I cut a few corners

I'll use the RR for camping during the N24H but stick to my golf for spirited driving
