Was looking into batteries today and the Varta i1 is exactly the same as the Bosch S5.

Just back from a 15 mile test drive and no faults showed. Does this mean the battery was at fault which would be my guess and an obvious first choice. I'm not 100% sure but reading on the forum about the HDC & Suspension Inactive faults seems to show that it can be either a battery problem of one of the following:- Speed/ABS sensor, ABS module, wiring or connections. If however it was one of these faults then surely it would throw up the fault more or less straight away...

Thanks KP, that confirms my thoughts that the 017 I fitted today will be fine for the time being allowing me to monitor the situation before splashing out on a new battery.

Had to go to the other side of town tonight, I was less than 100 yards into the journey when 'bong'...my heart sank, then noticed it was the low temperature warning, stopped when I arrived at my destination, restarted and another low temperature bong. No HDC or Suspension inactive faults. Will see what tomorrow brings |
