My sister has flown various dogs to the USA from S. Africa, and back again. She said to tell you" don 't be shy, or to forget to tell the Captain, and Chief Pursur, that they have a LIVE ANIMAL in their hold, and to be sure that he maintains an adequate temp down there,! " Range Rover Vogue TD6 2002

England 2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Zambezi Silver

Thanks for the advice.

I'm just waiting for BA Cargo to get back to me with a price. Sadly the KLM idea didn't work out.....

Lucky is doing very well at present and living with a lady in the Aramco compound in Khobar. She is spoiling him rotten, and my only wory is that she may not want to give him back to me lol.

Hi Jim,

Really nice what you are doing for Lucky. We have a Shell lady in Nigeria who is doing re-homing of Nigerian dogs and cats (our dog and cat are from her) and it is something that is very necessary as a lot of abuse goes on. Sadly the sort of people that do this abuse seldom get punished appropriately unless you believe in karma/wicca and the likes (which I don't, I believe in good old fashioned prison terms for life for any form of abuse).

Anyway, we have transported our previous doggy from New Zealand to Holland and from there to Nigeria (she died while in Nigeria, hence our rescue dog and cat). The trip from NZ to Schiphol was Malaysian airways and went really well. The various trips to Lagos and back to Schiphol also went well (apart from the poor dog sitting outside in Lagos on departure to Adam). KLM has a very good reputation on transport of animals. So we can recommend both. The tricky bit is all the paperwork and a good vet that knows how and where to do tests etc. We have jumped through some hoops getting bloodtests done for Molly (RIP) again with help of KLM.

We always flew on the same flight as the dogs so we could confirm with the flight staff that the dog was onboard and OK throughout the flight. I would recommend that if possible but I expect a major airline like BA should do fine without prompting. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
