Insurance costs

I know this has been discussed before but it was over a year ago as far as I could find. Ive been told that insurance has gone up by about 20% each year for the last couple of years due us becoming a "legislative society" ie, taking each other to court at the drop of a hat.

I've just ran a quote through go compare and got a quote of £605 for a 2007 FFRR supercharged SE. Is that about the norm? I noticed that Mick had a quote of around £400 last year, which seems mega cheap.... Question

I dread to tell you what my 2010 SC is costing if you are thinking £700 is bad. My 2006 SC was indeed £650, the 4.4 before it was £350 .... the 2010 ... is £1200 Surprised I complained and rang around, but everyone gave me the same figure!?! They claim the postcodes have been re-assessed. This is plainly rubbish because there is ONE RR in my postcode and I haven't had it nicked or exploded!?!?!

4.4 and 2010 diesel both under £400 with NFU. They're really good people to deal with as well. Rules are made for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men.

Who are the quotes with, they seem really good???. I turned 40 a few weeks ago so should qualify for old man insurance Smile I suppose I will get price loaded living in Manchester, aka 'the home of the staged accident'

I was shocked to find out a few years ago that insurance costs go off how many claims are in your postcode. So effectively if you live near an accident blackspot your screwed Exclamation

Your premiums are about half what I am shelling out for each year Crying or Very sad Are you getting this saving because you have trackers fitted?

I really shopped around when my last premium was due because they rose dramatically for absolutly no reason and thought I had a competitive deal.

It was even more difficult this time because I wanted to protect my no claims - Is this now a pointless exercise when insuring a vehicle? It added approx. £200 to my policy for Protected No Claims above a policy that didn't.

Question

£250 for the FFRR and £210 for the RS4!!!! Razz

Admiral multi-car with 5 cars on the policy. The more you insure, the cheaper it gets. Seriously! Shocked The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

I currently thinking of going down the tracker route, having just started fitting them to the buses.
But no, that price is for a bog standard Td6 55 plate Vogue. Although I do live in a fairly quiet village. Not many roads out if a car goes missing...

I am 35.

Dunno. Full NCB for both of us, been driving years. I guess its just down to that. The Tracker has no bearing on the price with my Insurance Co (Privilege). 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

My Premium is £500.01, I live in the UK's worst post code for vehicle thefts (Apparently) and it's parked on the roadway. I was originally quoted £800+ but having a tracker fitted brought it down to the current figure. I'm with Aviva specialist 4X4 section arranged through Adrian Flux and it includes Green lane cover
