PAYG roaming in the US

Are there any good deals if im only out there for a week? I've read AT&T may be good or something called BOOST mobile? Phone is unlocked so no issue with that. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

What about buying a throw away sim when your over there? I'm pretty sure that's what my folks did last time they went. Definitely do your research before you go to avoid getting hammered by your operator.

The way I do it is with a mi-fi device. That's a little gizmo that takes a sim card and creates a small wi-fi hot spot connected via 3g to the interwebs.

Buy a local Data sim with (say) a gig of data at destination country. Bung it in the mi-fi.

Now for the clever bit - phone, laptop, tablet etc all connect using the wifi. Before I leave the UK all calls from my landline and mobile are forwarded to my skype account... You can see where this is going now can't you?

Via the mi-fi device I'm online all the time and can chat to the UK (or anywhere in the world) for a very low price.

Putting a local SIM in your phone, still means wacking great call costs if you want to phone home.

Fair enough - the only reason I use the mi-fi is to share it out between different devices - make sure you get a sim with data then!

You've probably seen this then: http://prepaidwithdata.wikia.com/wiki/USA

That holidays one you posted up stan is good value if your there for 2 weeks or more i reckon but im only out there for a week Sad

Think it will be a case of, escape JFK, get stuff dumped in hotel and then find a local walmart which should be fun around central park Very Happy FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Well after a decent amount of Reading Tmobiles can be an issue sometimes but for $39 i can get unlimited data, some minutes nationally and unlimited text on Ultra-Mobile. Plus the best bit is they are literally across the street from the hotel im staying in so thats a bonus!

Will report back on details when I'm there just incase it helps others Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
