Supermarket deliveries

We are sorry to inform you that Club Sites cannot accommodate deliveries from supermarkets. In the interests of health and safety, we aim to keep vehicles on site to a minimum and the unloading of supermarket lorries can obstruct others.

In addition to this, delivery times do not necessarily coincide with reception opening times and drivers often require assistance from Site Staff to find pitches. There have also been instances of deliveries turning up before members have arrived on site.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. As an alternative to supermarket deliveries, details of nearby shops are available on site.

I suppose you could arrange to pick your stuff up at the gates?!
We stayed at a caravan club site, Melrose, when the kids were young. That was a mistake. The site manager came to speak to us to let us know "how things were done in the caravan club". He actually told us that kids were not really welcome as people liked peace and quiet. He did say dogs were welcome. If the kids wanted to play they were told to go to the dog walking area as it was out of the way. We left the next morning. Previously..

I have never quite understood the culture that is caravan holidays/parks/towing. Log cabins in the middle of nowhere with deafening silence perhaps but, sharing a field run by a committee of nipple pant height wearing busy bodies... Any paying for the experience (of cleaning your own human waste) whilst living in hope of sunshine to brighten up the story's of Normans next door neighbours, sisters, dog walker who once met her majesty the queen. Or at least shook her hand.

I tow my caravan with an RR and have never considered it as miserable, or held people up.

Don't take it to heart Ian, it was a bit of tongue & cheek aimed at the type of caravan parks (and users) that create such rules and regulations.

I'm sure you don't fall into that category.

Ooops, I actually didn't realise the forum had a full section dedicated to caravanning, I originally posted via the new posts section just trying to boost my post count. If it helps save my neck, a friend has just bought a 30ft (I think) caravan to tour in. It's HUGE and I wouldn't mind borrowing it for the nurburgring 24H race.
