Exceeding the Payload

has anyone ever exceeded the payload advice of 390kg?

I may need to shift about 410kg-420kg soon in one go rather than splitting it into 2 loads (still circa 205kg a piece) and just wondering if i should be wary of anything? rear seats would be down and my load liner out but some old carpet in there to protect the rear floor as well as some strapping and wedging from other objects to keep the load from moving around and i know performance will vanish as well as braking as well but i wont be hooning it!

Its over a distance of circa 20miles one way, rear tyres would be at towing weight and i wouldn't be overtaking the lorries on the motorway. Total weight will be just over 3tonnes Sad

Will the car take it or is it not worth the risk to twisting the rear and overloading the airbags?

Im thinking i'd be safe as the payload seems to allow for the towing nose wieght of 150kg to be added to it which would cover me i reckon. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

On my old one the only problem I have ever had was with the EAS pump , I put A LOT of tiles in one day without really thinking and rooted it . I think it may have bean on it's way out anyway but be caifull and don't go silly . 2008 MY Supercharged

Thanks fella Smile

I think if I loaded it I'd put it at offroad height, put the load in and set to normal when i get back in but leave a door open when loading up to prevent the pump cutting in with the engine off as well.

At least i'll be getting a hand as the minimum weight of each object is 195kg so will need 3 of us to lift it in i reckon! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I often have over 360kg in my car for hundreds of miles and it doesn't seem to impact on performance.
the pump does run on a little more than usual

Cheers gents Smile

It will be just me in the car and i'll be running about 1/4 fuel at that point so fingers crossed i'll be ok Smile

I'll be on my MTR's still but they have proven very resilient offroad and only once has one succumbed at silly low pressure to a pin pinch flat Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
