United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black
Fully Valeted by Hand - Finally looks Immaculate

Those who know me know that I do love to go a bit overboard with cleaning my cars. Since I've had the TDV8 though, I've not really had the opportunity to get on with it, as it's a lot of work (the way I do it anyway) and the car has certainly had less frequent cleaning than my previous cars.

I won't detail everything in its minutiae here as I have done that previously in another thread, ( http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic565.html ) however I will tell you what I had to do to get this done, it was in a bad way.

My entire car was covered in a spray of tar spots, Lord knows where it came from, but it made this mammoth task even longer, in total all of this took me 11 hours over 2 days Big Cry It didn't help that I did the wife's BMW beforehand too, so I was totally knackered!

So, this is what I did:

1. Washed and dried the car
2. Rubbed down every panel inc glass with tar remover (or Petrol if it was really bad) until all the tar spots were gone (2hrs)
3. Washed the car again
4. Clay Bar on every panel including the front & rear screens
5. A mechanical paint scrub using my dual action polisher and Meguiars Crystal Action Paint Cleaner
6. A mechanical paint polish using Meguiars Crystal Action Polish
7. A mechanical wax using Meguiars NXT
8. Manual scrub/polish/wax on the wheels and hard to reach nooks and crannies, door shuts, around lettering etc
9. Detailed all the black trim with Meguiars Trim Detailer
10. Dressed the tyres with Turtle Wax clear black tyre spray
11. Cleaned all the glass with Meguiars glass cleaner

DONE! Thumbs Up

The difference is quite remarkable, the car has depth of colour and shine to it now and it finally looks how I wanted it to look from day 1. Having done all of this on my previous FFRR I know it will make it easier to clean and harder for contaminants to stick in the paint.

Clay Bar is SO easy to do and makes the BIGGEST difference to your car, you should try it. Someone recently asked me to detail this process so I have done another thread on this which I will put a link in here to .

Pics of the finished result of course.... Very Happy

Looks lovely, just the way god intended. I need to have a session detailing mine, but dark blue in the sun is a nightmare - considering buying a marquee for extended detailing sessions.

Excellent job Adam, better than show room condition, I'm taking a look at your clay bar link with a view to doing mine in similar detail soon.

I have the same 20" rims as you, and I notice that you have the Pirelli Scorpion tyres fitted, whereas mine has Continental Cross contacts. I was wondering if you've had experience of both tyres and which you, or indeed anyone else, would recommend? Pros and cons to both? Mine are due for replacement soon....

Nice pics.

I've also got those 20" wheels and Pirelli Scorpions M&S (came with the car) and my only complaint is the slight vibration when stopped at traffic lights etc which is resolved by selecting neutral. They have very little roll when cornering, but do transmit noise from rough road surfaces (i.e. concrete motorway like the M20 to Folkestone) - so I will at some point play with 18" wheels and General Grabber AT2's.
