Whilst his sunday times review of the L405 was predominantly positive, in a recent column in the subscribers edition of Topgear magazine clarkson appears to attack the styling and image of the L405. This seems odd, no? Anyone else seen these articles?

Reads OK to me in all honesty. Clarkson is a die-hard Range Rover fan and a lot of his comments of late seem to have been based on a fear that Land Rover would screw up the RR by basing it all on Footballers tasteless Cheshire bling. He acknowledges in this article that they have not done this.

The link is the Times article, not the Top Gear column. He's in the business of entertainment, not journalism. |

Hot air certainly comes out of them, and the factory vents have mesh in the valleys of the louvres (although I know the holes aren't open directly into the engine bay). |

fins on the 405 are on the doors so are purely decorative... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Well on all the ones I've owned the air intakes are forward of the engine, certainly not on the side where there is *zero* chance of getting a decent intake with it whizzing past at 70mph

Why go to the effort of engineering front wing pressings with big square vent holes, and vents which actually are vents, when you could simply stick a bit of solid plastic over the panel as per the L405? I think your "heat rises and they aren't at the top" analysis may need more thought ... |
