Damn..... Bad night.

Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored

Lovely snow here tonight. We missed most of it earlier in the week, so we're quite happy that we have had loads today.
We thought we would go out for a wee adventure round the back hill roads of our village.
Car was handling the conditions easily. Steep roads, traction light flashing away now and again, but it got up everything easily. Having great fun.
Going along a single track road, high bankings either side..... BANG.
Hit something. Think it was a rock right at the side of the road, didn't see anything, just felt it.
Car starts pulling to the left, big time. Dashboard warning..hdc inactive, suspension lowering. Traction light was flashing, and 2 others to the right of that. Censored
Swmbo says "just call the AA"... Aye right says me, they will never find us and probably not get up the hills anyway.
So, wheel change in deep snow had to be done.
With the nearside front flat the car had buried itself in the snow. So I had to dig it clear at that corner and got it changed.
The scissor jack is pants, but it fitted underneath where as my modified Mercedes van jack will not fit with flat tyre and suspension at access. Anyway, got it done.
Put my spare Michelin on to get us home. Headed for the easiest way home. Had to drive on a main road, hit a puddle and the bloody thing pulled over to the kerb.... It has not done that since the NEXENs went on, so, they definitely are better in the wet than the synchrones.
Just checked tyre... One inch hole in side wall... Damn... That's been an expensive little trip!!
At least we were prepared for winter screw ups with a good selection of gear in the boot.
Time to order a new tyre. Only 1 needed as fronts are only 2 months old.... Previously..
