Dealer Warranty

Just been quoted £569 for 12 months Inchcape warranty, equivalent to LR select, which was £850

seems like a good deal. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

What do people think to the AA parts and labour warranty?

Around £100/year and cover you as follows:
Up to £500 (including VAT) towards expenses if your car needs parts or garage work.
Up to 5 claims a year

Would rather have the inchcape warranty for 600.

It seems pretty comprehensive and offers the same if not better cover than the select lr warranty at less than 1/2 price. It seems to offer upto car value claims, unlimited number and breakdown. Factor all that in and it looks better value.

I would worry on the aa paying out and the fact there was a 500 limit per claim. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The warranty they are offering is with the same company as the land rover warranty and they have paid out ok so far....... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I have had a second year of warranty on my RRS with car care via inchcape and whilst it sounds as good as the land rover cover it is not in a couple of (at least to me) critical areas. There was no hire car provision and the scope of the warranty was more limited. For instance, the many wiring faults I experienced with the RRS were covered when the policy was in the land rover name, but not when under inchcape, most A/V items are not covered by the inchcape policy.
Big ticket mechanical items will be covered but with these cars I am more worried about eclectical issues costing money...

That said I have an inchcape warranty in place on my FFRR which I have not needed to use so far. I have the AA policy on he wife's BMW, which came in at half price thanks to Quidco, so am tempted to go down the same route in July when my inchcape policy expires

I have seen the limitations on the inchcape policy. And tbh they are similar exclusions that apply on the select lr warranty. As my Ff has turned 5 years old the full lr warranty is no longer available, this would cover all of the av systems etc, i would be limited to the lower level of cover. Having read the policy docs side by side there isnt much difference in the actual cover levels in terms of stuff covered, though there is a much higher level of claim limit on the inchcape cover.

As i am buying it as insrance against my alternator going pop, or the gearbox or the injectors then it seems to suit. Not too concerned by the electrical problems even though common they tend to be more niggly than terminal..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
