Why ff or rrs?

Interested in opinions please
Looking to exchange my defender 110 to either
Was assuming rrs way smaller but maybe not?
Looks like with back seats down, the load area is a bit flatter
Anyone?
Why ff?

I have both. They complement each other. Laughing

I've never actually been in a RRS, so can't really comment.

However, the FF's boot is a very useable size. Nicely square and easily accessible. I'd say it should be more practical than a RRS, but a grown-up with direct experience should be able to qualify that better. Si. <This is my name.

Comparing both of the ff had a flat seats down load area it would easily be best for loads but there is a dip so it loses on that frot but it swallows much more than an rrs in my own experience of both.

I've had a tdv8 rrs and have a td6 ff now.

The ff wins on so many little things that unless you wan to corner fast or sell class a/b/c stuff then its te obvious choice for me. Also the centre console design is poor in the rrs which began to really hurt my knee after a while of driving and can not understand why they would do it. If you really new practically and large loads then a disco 3/4 is good as well as its a more square load area though not as comfortable as the ff Smile

Test them all if you want and then find the exact spec and combo you want and buy on condition ontop and underneath and not price and service history as both can mislead you to a money pit if not careful. Gaz on here is well renowned for good motors Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I thought the back seats in the rrs were poor compared to the FFRR. They don't go all the way up my back like my ff's do. Also for the driver, I don't like the high centre console. It feels restrictive. Previously..

I've had both and would go for the FFRR any day.
The sport is very nice to drive if you want to drive it like a racing car.
The FF is more of a gentlemans car and more refined.

The boot is bigger on the FF

I think the sport is something I would buy for the wife. Or if I was having a mid life crisis. If you can afford one you can afford the other so it's a question of if you pulled up next to a FF in your sport would you wish you had the other?

I am not sure that is the case, when I bought my RRS I could get into a much newer and better specified example than a FFRR at the time. This actually swayed the decision for my plus the wife though the FFRR was too big (in the flesh this is true but on paper there is not really much in it apart from height).

For the same money you can get a newer RRS. Or, in other words, the FFRR is more expensive.

There are some good reasons for that Wink

Look at it another way. The RRS shares the same T5 chassis as the Discovery 3. They are the same vehicle underneath with some minor revisions to the suspension. The other differences are that the RRS has less seats than a D3 and the RRS did have the option of the TDV8. It's a Disco in a dress !! Fine if that's what you want, but why not buy the Discovery and get the extra load space and extra seats ?

RRS = Footballer's wife / Street Pharmacist.

In the same way as the Evoque is really nothing but a freelander in a frock. Yes, technically it's different but really? Come on, it's not a Range Rover. That's marketing to hike the price up.......and therein lies the truth.

There is only one Range Rover and the others are Land Rovers which have been prettied up a bit. Nothing wrong with a RRS, just as long as you're paying Land Rover money for it. Makes all the difference that word "Range" Wink

No in the ff when rear seats are folded flat or fully against front seats you do not get a flat load area. You can make it flat with a slab of ply wood easy enough but there is a small smoothed lip. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Mine fold forward once onto the seat base, then there is a lever which brings the whole seat forward, leaving a flat space?

In my MY06 Vogue its not flat. There is a small lip from the boot to the seating area and then it dips down like a recess. Go double check as I'm sure all l322 are the same Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
