"Suspension Fault" message accompanied by 2 beeps | |
Hi everyone,
About a month ago I got a "Suspension Fault" message appear on the instrument dashboard, accompanied by 1 beep. At first I didn't think much of it as nothing happened immediately afterwards.
Then, about a week or so later the same thing happened. Over this last week the frequency of this message has increased, only now it is accompanied by 2 beeps. Today, the frequency has increased dramatically and now I got 5 "Suspension Fault" messages on my 13 mile commute home, all accompanied by 2 beeps. I had a good look around the car afterwards, and upon further investigation, it appears that the clearance between the tyre and wheelarch on the nearside rear of the car is slightly less than the clearance between the tyre and wheelarch on the offside rear of the car. (The distances between the fronts is exactly the same).
Could this be the problem? I have read numerous related topics on this forum that it may have something to do with either the ride height sensor or compressor?
I'm going to book it in at my local Main Dealer so that they can assess what is wrong. Has this particular problem happened to anybody else on here? If so, what was the problem and what was the solution? How much is it likely to cost?
Any useful information might be of help when the Main dealer rings me up and says it is going to cost £££ to put right.
