04 vogue using a Prinns VSI lpg system.

Yesterday after driving about six miles with a almost full tank of LPG it started bleeping and converted back to petrol. I dont know why? It would not let me turn the lpg back on. So got to where i was going, turned off, had lunch, three hours later started it up and drove home on gas no problem. Any ideas what this little problem was? Gone:

Just been reading about people's valves freezing in this weather. Previously..
Vogue SE TD6
Defender 90 2.4
Defender 110 TD5
Vogue 3.5 EFI

Most likely frost of the LPG that stopped it. The warm engine kept everything fine. If you can switch to petrol manually, leave it on petrol for a bit longer, till the engine warms up a bit and then switch to LPG.

Check with a good LPG installer what could be the issue and see if it can be resolved easily. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I used to have one that was electronically heated, as well with the cooling water, the best result out of LPG is at a constant temperature

Indeed, if it has electric heating while the cooling water warms up, that is the best. LPG needs heat to evaporate. I remember an older installation that if you didn't get it to fire on the first go, you would be screwed. And that of course happened to me the very first time I drove that car (Porsche 914) in the winter. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Yep mine does that, just needs a slightly longer run on petrol to warm up then its fine.

Had this as well - easy fix, its a sticky solenoid valve (front) at the reducer and is fairly common.
