Driving to Greece

I've decided to drive to Greece later this year and would be grateful for any advice, or I'd like someone to direct me to any threads that might help.

what I'm thinking about is what spares and tools to take, any general advice is most welcome.

Hi there. My opinion is that best way thru Italy via ferry to Patras and just arrived. You will see a lot of nice places on the way to Piraeus,if u will not choose the highway, for taking ferry to the islands where u will see/find paradise on earth.
As far as spares/tools u must have with you sorry but cannot assist you. From the other side understood you are coming for holidays so keep the spirit up and nothing will happened to u.
All times i hv travelled abroad i carried absolutely nothing (i own a TD6) and i secured not even a driving assistance. So far i faced not any problem.
I might have a wrong way of thinking but i consider my self like owners of other car brands who travel fm here to there just like this, without having the need to carry in trunk spares/tools/etc.
For me a good checking/service before departure,as is a long trip,is quite sufficient.
However u want to feel safer just ensure that RAC will cover u and that's all.
-My only suggestion is if u have a diesel model when you are in Greece try fill it up only with Shell Vpower which is imported product.Diesel cars are not too common in Greece so the quality of domestic production of diesel is bit doubtful.Thumbs Up

The only piece of Bosnia you will cross is something long 2 miles or something (not dangerous at all)! I did drive last summer from southern Albania to northern Croatia (off course with a Range Rover) and that was pretty nice drive!

Of course you could go directly to Greece through Italy via ferry but you'll be missing some interesting pieces of the Balkans 2000 BMW M5, Avus Blue/LeMans Leather Interior

Be aware that may not be insured on that 2 miles whiles in Bosnia..... (There is a ferry that goes around Bosnia section but I guess it worth taking the risk for just two miles!

hey gazellio, there's no such thing as war in the balkans anymore! you sound too much paranoid to me!

Anyways the strip you cross of Bosnia is seaside, it's just to "provide" Bosnia with a water border, it's like in middle of Croatia and you don't need no visa no special thing for that! The insurance is the same, and stop being paranoid! You worry too much! Rolling Eyes 2000 BMW M5, Avus Blue/LeMans Leather Interior
