Chaps

I wanted to buy a secondhand TDV8 but don't tend to consider main dealers. However my 'ideal' car was being advertised at Stratstone Newport Pagnell for a sensible price so I decided to go and have a look. In the end I traded in my old TD6 and bought the car. Overall, I experienced brilliant service and got a great car so I'm a very happy chap. These guys really went the extra mile both on the sales side and in the workshop so I'd be very happy to recommend to anyone on the FFRR foum.

Sales Side
To buy the car I dealt with John Brooks who was very patient with all my tedious questions. The sales process was exceptionally thorough. It helped that the car seemed to be a quality specimen in the first place but I picked up a few minor cosmetic issues which were dealt with as a matter of course. The car was freshly serviced and MOT'd (which you'd expect) but I also wanted to keep the tyres from my old car (Vred Wintracs) which was dealt with efficiently. Nothing was too much trouble and the handover was like collecting a new car! They were very transparent about the trade-in price, too, which I thought was a good step to build trust. Top marks all round.
Overall, I feel I got a superb car, magnificently prepared at a sensible price - you can't say fairer than that.

Workshop
Shortly after collection I had my specialist waxoyl the car. During this he spotted what might have been a leak of grease from a split CV boot on the rear axle. This worried me slightly as I was about to do a large European trip with the car and it was the week before Christmas. Central London (where I live) workshops that I called were all booked up. In mild desperation I called the dealer principle at Newport Pagnell - Richard Roberts - and he could not have been more sympathetic or helpful. His attitude was 'we will drop everything to accommodate you'. He personally made sure the parts were ordered and the workshop time was booked. I dropped off the car the next day and the work was complete 48hrs later FOC. Once again, exceptional service and a really great bunch of guys.

Based on my experience with this purchase and subsequent after-care, I could not rate Stratstone Newport Pagnell highly enough. Top marks chaps - well done!!
