make that plus 2. Drove home from work last night at 2030. Air temp -5C. Snow had fallen 4 days ago and was still on the ground but roads were absolutely clear and had been treated with salt/grit. Surprised (well perhaps not really) to find the motorway (the Ring, R0) had come to a complete standstill 1km from my exit. 4 cars stopped in lane 3 looking variously crumpled with the car at the back upside down with its rear bumper ripped off an on the road, 6+ cars, with a few bent wheels on the hard shoulder. Emergency services not yet on the scene but situation seemed calm and under control with people making telephone calls and putting out red triangles. Draw your own conclusions. At work we start the day with ' the bad driving I saw today on the way to work'. Ironically on the day this week when it was snowing people were leaving a sensible amount of space and driving steadily.
