Easiest place to pick up +ve on ign feed

Definately going to fit a camera front and rear for safety sake, wheres the easiest place to hardwire it with an ign feed as I dont want to just plug it in to the cigar lighter. One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

Believe it is all live all the time in the rear fusebox, but there is an ignition feed on the other side, to the radio, that you can tap into.

Up front, best to get a piggyback fuse connector and pick a fuse with ignition feed (like the radio or fuse 7) .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

Thanks the +ve needs to be in the front of the car, sort of under the steering wheel or gear surround its low draw so Ill have a poke around, just wondered if there was anywhere easy to use. One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

Mine is still plugged into the cig lighter which was only supposed to be temporary Laughing

My plan was to pick up power from the fuses in the back of the glove box using a piggy back fuse.

I ran the cables down the passenger side, through the glove box, but currently contiune back into the footwell and along to the cig lighter.

My installation pics are here

Thanks Alistair, that looks pretty simple and the piggyback fuse means no cutting needed, just need to try and get a lead to the back of the car for the rear facing lens, could have done with this in the summer as I almost got arrested. One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

In the rear fuse box along the top there is a thickish cable green / blue or blue/ green goes live on the key loses feed 45 seconds after ignition turned off.
Use this all the time the problem with the rear fuse box is it get the ignition signal from the can system so normally no instant
Off occasionally one of the 5amp fuses will be instant must be a spec thing you can use a fuse spur or I have found on flee bay a piggy back fuse cable quite cheap but can be fragile
Regards
