2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey
which one?

looking to buy my first FFRR, as luck would have it there are two very nice examples on the FS section, both identically priced with very similar mileages both 05 so cheaper tax, one is AJV8 other TD6 heads says the latter whilst heart says former hmmmm realistically what is the difference in mpg, i do about 5k a year mainly town use with the odd 60mile trip weekends

petrol Mark. Thumbs Up

i had the td6 and was very happy with it but the noise of the massey ferguson engine got to me in the end...although not a fullfat i do have a petrol runabout now and the noise difference is very noticeable...
work out he mileage you will do against the price of petrol/diesel and reported mpg, you will be surprised how close the costs are.. ... - .- -.

Petrol for me - the AJV8 is a great engine

I drove a TD6 and hated the lack of power - plenty like it though so I guess it's down to how you drive.

For the mileage that you will be doing I would go for a ajv8 or a supercharged Cool

Supercharged or Normally Aspirated AJV8. Supercharged is great fun but a bit high on fuel, the NA is probably the smarter choice. Also because they have the better ZF gearboxes. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

V8 all the way. You'll surf the low down torque with quick throttle response and very decent acceleration.

At 5,000 miles p.a, the difference in fuel costs is minimal. Si. <This is my name.

The amount of mile you do a year it got to be the V8. the power difference is so so different.

The cost difference between the 2 will be more than compensated by the better driving experience (and sound!) of the v8. I have had both and while I love my td6, it costs the same to run as my 4.4v8 LPG.

Difference is around 8 mpg between non-LPG petrol and diesel so over 5k miles the difference won't be much in cash terms.

ok, i'm sold, from what I've read it would only take a gearbox rebuild to make the td6 rather expensive of the petrol, I have asked for more info on the v8 in the FS section, lets hope its fairly local. thanks for the advise.

Ok BrianC's AJV8 is in Glassgow, couldn't be much further away. if anyone knows of an AJV8 slightly closer to Bristol ideally a vogue SE in grey with light leather, please get in touch.
