Yes the back left of the engine. Have a look tonmorrow and you will see what I mean. Sorry no link online, but do a search here for.pcv repair and somewhere there is a link to a video of a yank mechanic swapping the pcv, but I don't think he goes as far as the metal pipe . You will see it bolted to the bottom of the sump with a banjo or you will see the top of it from the back left of the engine once the cyclone/ condensor is moved. It's fairly simple once you get eyes on it. Only trouble is you have tobdrop engine oil to get the metal drain pipe off it it does turn out to be blocked MY2010 TDV8 Vogue Ipanema Sand

Ok I see, iv replaced a crankcase breather for the later style vortex type on my 320cd in the past so I will be able get that far, so once I remove the crankcase breather in looking for a metal pipe that goes from the bottoms of the housing to the sump, then if I try blowing down this pipe and I can hear the oil 'gurgle' then its clear, if its blocked I need to two over and clean out? Think iv got it, you mentioned a few other pipes aswell, do these also run from the crankcase breather housing? Thanks |

Ah. Is it worth checking the crankcase breather and pipes coming and going from it still though? Although an awkward job it seemed more inviting than a head gasket or worn piston rings |
