United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Zermatt Silver

I went to look at a lovely looking 2008 black and ivory Vogue TDV8 at Rix motors 6 months ago when I was looking for my first FFRR

The front bumper had been re sprayed and near side wing panel replaced (possibly more - I wasn't wasting at more time at this point). Heated screen was broken, near side electric mirror didn't fold, 'vehicle rising slowly' air suspension message.

Dealer claimed to know nothing about an accident, even though I found and showed them the freshly sprayed masking tape covering the headlight washers!

If an employee had sourced this vehicle and missed something so obvious, they would be immediately sacked. And if the dealer were straight, they would have discussed the damage when asked a direct question ('Has the vehicle ever had and bodywork done?')

I can only conclude the dealer knew all about the accident damage (they probably fixed it) and straight up lied to me when I asked if the vehicle had ever been involved in an accident. All they kept saying was 'Theres nothing on HPI' (which I already knew)

Also worth noting that I dealt with the son of the owner - kind of sets the tone for the other employees.
Only one experience with them, but I personally would treat anything from Rix with a great deal of suspision.... 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

England 2003 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Bonatti Grey

Sorry but being low mileage doesn't excuse it from being at least £4k above retail value. £15k for a 10 year old FFRR = dreamer. My recent runaround RR (all be it a TD6) was bought for almost half that price. Ok it's got 115k on the clock but original paintwork and looks very nice.

I'd be asking myself what I could get for 15k and the answer would probably be an early 06 facelift with about 80k on the clock.

Also as far as RR's go, they don't like to be used occasionally or for small trips, mine was bought from a guy who works away for months on end and had been sat for a while, all issues are now resolved but I do have a binding caliper I think. Iv got my eye on a set if SC brembos to fix that though.

I guess you pays your money and takes your chance but if its the car you really want then go for it!

I beg to differ but depends on who you use for figures I guess. Ok the mileage correction will help with increasing the value but I think we all agree the asking price it miles out.

If they are the ones I'm thinking about I'll be honest.

As someone who has spent many years living in the town i know that they have closed down and opened up again a few times, generally with the same stock being moved around and being situated in a busy location helps get some passing trade as most are heading into/out of town past the main dealers it helps get them some interested. They tend not to do family hatchbacks but more the sporty/nicer stuff as you would call it. possibly prestige but without the badge snobbery if you get my drift so well specced cars.

I wouldn't buy from them but then again I've only ever bought one car from a dealer in my life... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
Mantec Sump Guard, Rigid Load liner, MY10 BT upgrade.
