Servotronic Servo Valve

Hi

Does anyone know what this item is? Is it part of the steering?

it regulates the steering fluid and is indeed an important part of the steering. ... - .- -.

Thanks for that. I did do a search but nothing came up.

A mate came round and plugged his Diagnostic machine in and it came up with this error. I wasn't sure what it was. He has now cleared all the faults and we'll do it again in a few days and see whether it was an old fault or a current one.

If you have the original valve fitted it will most likely be faulty, the new valve makes such a massive difference to the way the FFRR steers and well worth the £60 it costs Thumbs Up

Thanks for that, I'll investigate it. Is there any way of knowing if it has the new type without removal and what are the symptoms? I have just moved from Discovery 2 to Range Rover and the steering is so much better already.

Brilliant news as mine has the same original 1 in from when rack was fitted and now got the stiff wheel.checked power to the plug so hopefully it will cure the fault when i fit my new servotronic valve transducer 👊

Hi guys changed the servo valve today and no difference what so ever.if anyone else has the problem .refer to the bcm as I've checked power to the plug, checked fuses ,and checked the level in the fluid. Totally rounded it down the last thing causing the heavy steering and its defonatley the bcm under the passenger seat.

Hi Guys.
I had exactly the same problem on my 54 plate FF 3.0TD Vogue. My steering was so heavy, I went into an independant in London who diagnosed the BECM as the issue. They changed it at a cost of approx £220 inc and it made no bloody difference Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad . I had all the power steering checked and no body could diagnose the fault, GRRRRRR.
Went to a well known independant Dealer in Kent, who I use all the time now & can't fault for service, price & quality of work and they found the issue straight away. My servotronic valve was shot, new one installed and hey ho beautiful feather light steering.
Hope you sort the issue out as I know with heavy steering, it turns the pleasure of driving a FF into a mission.
regards.
Mark.
