I just noticed Aberdeen dealer 'Town and County' is now 'Peter Vardy" Land Rover.

Anyone had experience regarding servicing since the name change/take over?

Peter Vardy (for those who might not know) was the bloke who built the Reg Vardy group, almost bankrupted it (by amongst other things sponsoring Sunderland Football Club), and sold out to Pendragon thus forming Stratstone, the (now) largest auto retail group in Europe.

My experience of Stockton Jaguar when it was taken over by RV was poor. My experience of Stockton Land Rover was exactly the same, a massive decline in customer service.

Anyone who thinks Stratstone are less than perfect has clearly never dealt with Reg Vardy. That kind of ethos can only come from the top IMO. So unless it's a different Peter Vardy, or the Leopard has changed his spots I would advise caution.

Happy to eat the above words if it proves to be a good experience though. It's all expectations based on experience past.

You might also notice the Stratstone Jaguar and Evans Halshaw have also gone to Peter Vardy as well... The missus is the accountant at Stratstone but off on maternity leave at the moment so hasn't got all the details. A good indie for any service work probably makes more sense than using main dealers anyawy...I used Strthearn Engineering at Aberuthven near Perth and found them to be excellent

Stratstone in Cupar are an ok bunch. I would use them for major stuff, but don't think I will be back for servicing. Previously..
