Thanks for all the replys chaps, I drive a lot in Europe where diesel is a fair bit cheaper than petrol so it's defo a diesel for me,

could push my budget to £20k for the right TDV8, I take it the gearbox/diffs are better/more reliable on the TDV8?

The gearboxes are better, but not without their problems. A quick search on here will tell you all you could want to know.
