I know: surely a lot of car for the money?! Would sell like hot cakes here with a generic 3.0 Diesel of some sort... so long as economy is ok people wouldn't mind. I also reckon the Chevy Suburban with a similar diesel would sell well here in cheshire Whistle

I can just see them at the local Chevy dealership now taking up half the showroom!

The engines they could fit would be easiest with the current LR Diesels as ford have the licence to use them from the joint venture with PSA and actually now sell them to tata for LR to use Wink Though i think the 4.4tdv8 was an in house jobby the 3.6tdv8 is all ford and can still have some more efficiency eeked out from further development Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Yeah, but luckily its the other way round: the 4.4 tdv8 is a ford "lion" unit originally created for a US-market pickup, and LR has it on lease. Very Happy
Think I prefer the ford Flex though: Looks like a proper RR, would need some sort of park assist for this country though!

I can see it now: Flex TDV8 with 8spd auto in Black, RRP around £40,000 Bow down

1. Neither US Car looks like the Range Rover (Other than front lights)
2. Neither Car will drive like the Range Rover
3. Neither Car will be built like the Range Rover

Not a fair comparison of course they are cheaper they are crap.

Australia 2008 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Rimini Red

The TDV8 has I'm pleased to say absolutely nothing to do with the still borne Ford USA diesel V8 project , the JLR engines were developed with allot of input from Peugeot Citroen in fact they did nearly all the work on the 2.7 but things have moved on since then and now its all JLR work on the 4.4 .
Think about it these engines are more expensive than a whole US pick up Thumbs Up but I believe actual ownership of the engines rights are quite complicated . 2008 MY Supercharged

the 2.7/3.0 are PSA/Ford shared units so thus Tata need to buy them from that co-op.

TBH though gaz you can buy 2 of the fords for the price of a new FF there. If they are half decent off road you have a good comfort basic offroader and one for on road or shed loads of pennies in the bank Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
