£20,000 still seems a lot of money to me when someone has cut the roof off. Not the tidiest of cuts either. Gone:

Golf GT TDI 150- Still got.
BMW 325TD
Range Rover Classic
Defender 90

Laughing Was sat in that car last week as i know the owner of the salvage company its currently for sale in... Its a bit of a mess i must say! If it was cut off it might be repairable but its been chewed off by jaws of life so is in a right mess!

I was amazed as to how floppy the body is without the roof, even with a ladder chassis!

Not worth the money IMHO as to shell it is lots & lots of work, then there's the damage to the dash & the pass seat!

I nearly had this happen to me once when i was the first passer by at a relitively minor accident but could not open the door on the ladies Porsche Cayenne! (left the road and landed up in a drainage ditch) So instead of putting her in my car to keep warm and dry i had to sit next to her car awaiting the emergency services. Half hour later when they appeared shock was setting in and she then complained about back or neck pain and they cut her roof off to get her out on a spinal board!

The Fire Chief there said they cut the roof off an undamaged good samaritans car on a monthly basis! Shocked So the moral of the story is not to put an accident victim in your car in any event! And worse still, your not always insured as you invited the victim to sit in your car! Shocked

I'd have pushed the Censored out before I'd let anyone cut the roof off my car. Actually, not quite true, 'cos I'd never have stopped to help in the first place TBH. There's way too many potential pitfalls ranging from an over-enthusiastic copper to fraudulent crash victims who might sue for aggravating injuries or something. Just not worth bothering any more, way too risky.

I've seen the water fairies get over excited like this before, its absurd. It wouldn't have been the first time that I'd left them happily cutting as we removed the injured party by some other method. Tis comical to see the look on their faces when they realise that there's no patient in the vehicle when they finish

However, when they are really needed their worth their weight in gold & our local retained guys are gems. The reason women's minds are cleaner than a mans mind is that women change their minds more often!
When women say fine a mans in deep doodoo as fine has so many meanings.
