I used to have an R1150GS and I've got to say the small bikes make a lot more sense. They're just as quick and can carry as much but without that rediculous size. I liked my 1150 but it had an horrible engine/gearbox, and from what I hear the later 1200's weren't much better. It was also hugely top heavy, especially with the near 7 gal fuel tank full. I think the 1200's were much better for this. Loved the looks, and riding it, but I had no understanding why people like the boxer engine. It sounded like a chainsaw. I bought it off a very tall German guy who'd ordered it with the extra high seat. It sat on my driveway for two weeks while I waited for the extra low seat to arrive (I'm a short ar$e). Here it is with the extra high seat and my attempt to get on it.
And with the extra low seat.

Ooh, nice Ducati. Which Pan do you have, the 1100 or the later 1300? (Both very nice bikes by the way - I used to really lust after the 1100). |

Agree I nearly killed myself on my mental GSX1100R back in the 80's and vowed to stay away even though I love bikes. |

It wont break a diff, can you see the size of it in the pic? Its a dana rear axle, one of the strongest they do and the car is pretty light, I can lift it easily with no motor and wheel it round like a wheelbarrow, if the wheel hop thats when things break but it just hooks up and f***ks off, the bits on it are all the high end, 2 speed box would be over 7K, Torque converter 5K etc etc One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching! |

Certainly is...good spot that man! Bit of a Lotus nut. Currently have the Esprit and an M100 Elan. You got one? ...and a bonus ten points for the other car behind the Esprit? Not much, it was a 3ltr Supra putting out about 1100hp We were going to go 3.4 with Nitrous to run 2000hp but now going diff series so fitting a Big Block Chevy 633 cu in 14:1 comp with twin 1050 dominators and a little squirt of NOS be a bit slower but far easier to keep on top of and definatly less maintenance Oh and it will sound the nuts.
