England 2003 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Bonatti Grey

I think the head unit fitted in my 2003 RR looks ugly and dated. The newer systems are much nicer but as you mentioned come at a price. I am not really that clued up on RR systems as mentioned but would be interested to learn about what is contained within the system, how it works and how it can be modified.

I was half way through starting a thread about this, I was hoping someone had a build thread or enough info for me to start one.

I like my early BMW system. I've upgraded to the Mk4 sat nav, added OEM Bluetooth phone integration, the BMW Hybrid TV tuner and had the BM54 amp unit upgraded. Much better.

Don't very often have to use the buttons around the screen, I use either voice control or the steering wheel buttons.

If you download RAVE, or have a look at the RAVE system links in the wiki, you should find a bit more out about the systems.

Failing that, there is loads of stuff on the BMW forums.

Thanks for that, If you dont mind me asking how much did all of your updates cost you. As it stands my CD nav is faulty, tv tuner does not work (but is analogue), date cant be set, analogue clock is up the wall and stuck yet ticking quickly, radio stations and trip info work fine. Hence my thoughts about doing away with the lot.

You need a BMW ULF module, bluetooth antenna, microphone and a pairing button + a quick rewire - assuming you have the phone prep loom (most do, tho).

Loads of info in this forum if you search.

What SteveMFr said for the bluetooth, though you can do away with the pairing button if you are happy to connect 2 wires in the boot......only needed once to pair the phone.

I got the BMW hybrid tuner for £150 off the car dealer I bought the car from who owed me a favour. Swapped my analog one to an X5 Whistle

I got the ULF, antenna and microphone from a friend of mine who was trading his BMW in. Cost me a few pints.

Did good really.

Do the mods over time, as funds come available. You can always sell on when you sell the car........ 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Re: DVD, SATNAV system

I have read a number of threads on here now about needing the original unit in the glovebox for the clock / trip computer - does this maintain all functionality of the old unit without the need for this?

The original ebay link is dead, do you happen to know whether it is still available?

Many thanks in advance….
