L405: specification reliant?

Saw another L405 today, having ranted on here about the truly hideous Barolo Black example that I saw recently. In Siberian Silver, with smallest wheels and privacy glass it appeared far more subtle and elegant to me. Enough so that my opinion of the L405 is now a little mixed. Could it be that how this car looks is very spec. dependant? A bit like how the RRS SE in green with Gundogs in the boot are quite cool, whilst gleaming, white bodykitted examples are not? This wasn't really so with the L322: loved it whatever the colour/wheels etc. What do you guys think?

Yep, I'd go along with that. The L322 never appealed in any of the aftermarket guises like Overfinch, Fantom or (worst of all) Khan. All the factory ones looked nice regardless of colours, wheels etc, probably because LR weren't doing bling on the FFRR then.

Looking at a few in a showroom last week I think the more subtle ones look vastly better than the bling ones. Ship all that tasteless shiny crap to China & Russia where it will be appreciated.

Even so, still a very arrogant price tag.

I think some of the later model L322's that were chinzed up and blinged looked awful.

$49364 for the XLT sport with as many optionals as i could feasibly use even just once!

That's with a lazy V6 turbo engine as well by the sounds of it so economy would be poop but heated steering wheel, heated and cooled seats, adaptive cruise control (sound familiar..)

Thats £30.5k in uk terms!

I hope they bring some nice big diesel units to the UK as they have the rights to use the 3.0 SDV6 in it and the SDV8 as well if they wanted as well as the SC engine which would be a right hoot in it i bet!

No airsprings though Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
