Does anyone have, or know the cheapest place to get a decent rear wiper motor ?

The piggin rear wash doesn't work anymore. I've changed the NRV and its no different. Garage have had a look today and said the motor is causing the issue.......

I've read threads about stripping it down, but don't fancy it.

Its wiping fine, but no wash........

the garage also damaged the back bumper whilst servicing it, so I'm not best pleased !!

got mine at the dealer last week,

they are bout 135 pounds plus vat from the uks well known mail orders or bout 167 plus vat from dealer approx

Really though, strip it down. It's simple and could save you quite a bit of cash.

Thing is, the wiper motor can only block the system, not make it fail electrically. It tends to be washer fluid which kills wiper motors, not the other way around.

1. Does the washer motor run when commanded to ?
2. If not you need to fix that (wiper motor will not cause this)
3. If yes, take pipe off the non return valve and operate. Water flowing?
4. If not the washer motor is goosed or the pipe is blocked.
5. If yes, take the wiper motor apart and inspect internals. Are they wet ?
6. If yes the wiper arm is probably blocked causing pressure build up and filling up of the wiper motor.
7. If not then NRV is suspect.

Mine stopped and I traced it to a blocked wiper arm (which is a lousy design) so I popped the cap which covers the wiper arm retaining nut. This allows the washer fluid to just come out of the base of the wiper arm until I can be bothered to unblock or replace the arm.

Yea, thats what my head is telling me to do, but knowing my luck I'll bust the clips off the trim on the inside of the tailgate.

The wiper motor is working fine, and I can hear the pump running when I press the washer, but it only runs in bursts. Is it the same pump as the front screen, with some diversion thing, or is there 2 pumps on the bottle ?

How does the motor block the flow ? Is there just a pipe going through it, or is there a wierd waterway weaving around it ?

I had a brand new wiper and wiper arm fitted about 12 months ago............so that should be OK and the NRV was replaced this morning......

I may revisit the thread I saw about stripdown.

Well its not as scarey as you think as i took mine apart and repaired it temporarily

Best maybe to buy another if you are keeping it long term and then repair the current one as its a PITA taking the spoiler off to replace it each time! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I have no idea how the range rover rear washer works, but i had the same problem on the wifes Polo, Stripped the rear wiper mech out of the car etc only to find the pipe from the bottle has a plastic joining piece, in the engine compartment.

The washer pipe had slipped off the connector.

Joined back together with cable ties.

Just an idea Three things in a blokes life his dog,his car and a Cornish pasty,nothing else matters.
