Bit of luck the alloys and ATR's that i bought off eBay arrive today hopefully get them on tomorrow at the local National tyre fitters and get the tracking done as well  ====================================

Ah well Alloys have turned up …… phoned 4 garages to ask if they do wheel and tyre changeovers and have been told they no longer do this service …

i know i should change them myself but after reading horror stories of the LR jack .. thought it would be easier to put it into a garage … £10 a wheel

F d if i am gonna buy a trolley jack …

Also they don't do 4x4 tracking …  ====================================

Mick a the rate you go through wheels you should realise the economics of a trolley jack and the BIK of excercise is well worth the small initial outlay of £30 on a 20tonne bottle jack to do the job or £50 for a trolley jack Get it done wee lassie! should only take 40 mins at worst  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Can you really use a bottle jack?

Yip, works a treat for me The locator on the FF is just a solid rubber type base, its not plastic or part of the body so as long as you cover it and spread the load of it it works a treat  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

And this is with about 1-2cm under the tyre for swapping. When it goes to full height the passenger wheel can begin to lift!! Its a ruddy great unit for the money and weighs a tonne but I'm happy to trust a bottle jack as i can leave it the car all the time and know if I have a flat i can get it changed quick as I can hand pump it without even using the bar to go in the slot I cant fault it at all other than it weeping fluid sometimes but its a bottle jack, I've never experienced one that doesn't weep a little  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I had a small trolley jack that I got high enough to take the back wheel off and then the suspension lowered a bit and I couldn't get the other wheel on.

After a lot of work using axle stands and putting flag stones under the trolley jack I managed to get it sorted. Ooh, the problems of big wheel travel.

I've since bought a big trolley jack, but will admit I'd never have gone for a bottle jack. Thanks for the pic.

£80 to have 4 wheels changed over...you must be mad

I got mine done for 40 quid including balancing ... African Bush Junkie ... in London!
